Rodney H. Park, 61, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was the only son born to Marvin Hooper Park and Velda Hobbs Park on March 21, 1954. He grew up in Pocatello, Idaho with four older sisters, LaWanna, Betina, Winona, and Korena, who often smothered him with love. Rodney attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving Middle School and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1972. He worked for the Union Pacific Rail Road from September of 1973 to 2001, retiring after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rodney loved to fish and spent many years fishing with his family. One of his favorite things was fishing on his boat! He loved Henrys Lake in Island Park. He spent a lot of time with his parents at their cabin there in Island Park. Hells Canyon was also a favorite place to boat and fish. He would often ride his horses in the mountains with his dogs by his side. Rodney had one daughter, Alicia and for thirty years was best friends and companion to Mary Pearson. He will be missed by Mary, his dogs, his cats, his three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Mary Pearson, Inkom, ID; daughter, Alicia Park; sisters, LaWanna (Len) Mazon, Burley, ID, Winona (Mark D.) Siler, Pocatello, ID, and Korena (John E.) Wilson, Idaho Falls, ID. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin H. Park (died July of 2001), mother, Velda Hobbs Park (died in January of 2001); and sister, Betina Park (died in May of 2011). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 am at the LDS Tyhee 7 th Ward Church building, 12146 Tyhee Road (Tyhee & Moonglow) Pocatello, Idaho 83202 with a viewing for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
