Ronald L. Marler, 59, passed away peacefully on October 12 2013 at a local care facility. Ron was born November 25, 1953 in Wichita Kansas son of Glenn and Betty Marler. He attended elementary schools in Pocatello Idaho, and finished his high school education in Duarte, California and graduated in the class of 1972. After his high school education he served in the armed forces and was later medically discharged. He had three children; his first one a daughter, Jennifer, from his first wife, Angela, and they were later divorced. He then married Karen Walters and had two more children; Michael, and Heather, and they were also later divorced. Ron was very mechanically inclined and worked for a couple of tire centers here in Pocatello, Commercial Tire and Big-O-Tire to name a few. Ron enjoyed watching old western movies in his spare time. He also enjoyed camping and fly fishing in his younger days. Ron really enjoyed getting together for family occasions like picnics and holidays. He really loved being with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by 3 children, a daughter Jennifer Marler, son Michael Marler, and a another daughter, Heather Howarter, his father and step-mother, Glenn and Joyce Marler, three sisters, Jan (Steve) Nickels, Wendy (Bob) Odem, and Glennda Marler, and three grandchildren, Andrew, Hailey, and Emily. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Marler. Graveside memorial services will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South Fourth Avenue. Pocatello Idaho.
