Ronald Peterson

d. June 5, 2009

Ronald Dell Peterson, 65, of Chubbuck, Idaho, returned home to his Father in Heaven on Friday June 5, 2009 surrounded by his family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born on October 22, 1943 in Logan, Utah to Shirley and Sylvia Peterson. Ron lived in Logan until the age of 5 and then moved to Pocatello, where he remained until his death. He attended Pocatello area schools. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1961 and continued his education at ISU. He received his Mechanic Certificate from the Vo-tech program at Idaho State University. He married Ilene Vonnel Smith on September 10, 1965. They were later divorced. He then married Linda Susan Croxall on February 2, 1979. There marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 27, 1982. Ron was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a carmen. He retired in October, 2003 after 32 years of service. He developed many lifelong friendships at the railroad that continued until his passing. He was an active member of the Chubbuck LDS 3rd ward and had numerous callings which he served diligently. Ron was a devoted family man who always made it a point to be at every activity or event that his children were participating in. He had a real passion for reloading bullets and guns. He loved to load bullets in his gun room with his sons. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his family and friends up in Copper Basin. He loved to go camping and ride motorcycles and four wheelers with his kids and grandkids. His family was his pride and joy. He would do anything to make sure they were always taken care of. His favorite thing to do after retirement was to babysit his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them reading hunting books and teaching them about animals. We love you
