Ruby Helen Beck, 103, of Sacramento, California, formerly of Pocatello, passed away July 29, 2015 in Roseville California of natural causes. She was born November 20, 1911 in Salem, Oregon, daughter of Howard Gardner and Jenny Chamberlain Gardner. She had seven children; twins, Betty and Frankie, Eddie, Jerlean, Leland, Helen, and John. She was employed at the Naval shipyard during the war. She worked as a sailmaker and duffel bag maker in the Puget Sound area. Later, she and her husband, "Ned" McPherson owned and operated the "Tally-Ho Caf" in Pocatello. She then spent many years working as a janitor at Idaho State University and retired in the early 70's. Helen really enjoyed ceramics and crocheting, she also played the Piano, Organ, Accordion, Ukulele, and Mouth harp. Helen lived most of her life in Pocatello but moved to Sacramento in 2000 to be near her son, John McPherson. She is survived by her children; Eddie Tourville, Jerlean Norris, Leland (Sue) Tourville, Helen (Dennis) Garner, and John (Peggy) McPherson, she also leaves behind, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren all totaling well over 200. She was preceded in death by her husbands and twins. A viewing will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 11 AM until 12 Noon at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello, ID 83201 with graveside services to follow the viewing at 12 Noon at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204, where she will be buried next to her husband, Harry Beck.
