S. Clint Sheppard

S. Clint Sheppard, 87, passed from this physical world on July 26, 2014. He was joyfully reunited with his wife and daughter, and many of his family and friends. Clint was born in Marysville, Idaho November 7, 1926. He was the third of eight children born to John Archie and Mable (Casper) Sheppard. During WWII he served in the Navy in the South Pacific. He also served an LDS mission in California. Clint became an electrician and general contractor. September 1951, Clint went on a blind date with Janice Mae Edgington, who became the love of his life. December 19, 1951, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with eight children. Clint worked hard for his family, and took good care of Janice during her health struggles before her passing. Clint and Janice made a happy home for their children. We are grateful we were blessed with such wonderful parents. Clint, his entire life, had a great and abiding love and devotion to Heavenly Father. He loved to talk and share with anyone who would listen, and desired everyone to have the understanding he did about God, including the importance of having a relationship and turning to Heavenly Father in all things. Clint could be found helping others fix things in their homes, giving a ride to someone in need, or visiting and praying for those who were sick. He was a great example of serving and helping others. We are grateful to Clints granddaughter, Tiffany Hohman, for the love and daily care she gave him over the past 3 years. We also thank his daughter, Lauri, who has devoted her life to our parents well-being. Clint is survived by his brothers and their spouses, Glen (Quina), John (Judy); his children and their spouses, Timothy (Toril), Daina, Lauri, Archie (Lise), Christine (Marshall) Hughey, Doug, Amy (David) Meek; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Clint was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Mae (Edgington), his daughter, Maline Garner, granddaughter Charrisse Garner, and his parents John Archie and Mable, brothers Gail, Rex, and sisters, Shirley Newton, Goldie Kynaston, and Barbara Gledhill. Clint will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11 AM at the LDS Pocatello 44th Ward Building located on North US Highway 91 (Between Reservation and Ballard Rds) Pocatello, ID. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Following a family luncheon, burial will be in the Pine View Cemetery, Ashton, ID. Go East on the main St. (State Highway 47) go through town 1 mile. Cemetery is on the North side of the road.
