Samuel Mathis

Samuel Thomas Mathis, 31, of Pocatello, ID spread his wings and went home on June 2, 2021. Samuel was born in Soda Springs, ID on June 11, 1989 to Douglas Reed Mathis and Cindy Lee Taylor, joining the family as the third brother to Jake Reed and Sean Douglas Mathis.

It wasn't long before the family knew they had a family comedian in the home. Samuel was a jokester from the beginning and enjoyed making people smile. He was a kindhearted boy who loved Johnny Cash due to the influence of his grandpa. He loved watching sports, including Gate City Grays, New York Yankees, and Chicago Bears. Samuel was a natural at snowboarding and skate boarding. He loved the outdoors. His skills in the kitchen were unbeatable, especially when it came to his omelets. Whatever he did, he did it to perfection.

God gained an angel when we lost our SamIAm.

In remembrance of this outstanding man, we invite you to join us as we celebrate his life on his day of birth, June 11th at 6 pm for a BBQ, Potluck, and BYOB at Lower Ross Park Pavilion, next to the skate park.
