Timothy John Affa

August 20, 1960 — January 24, 2020

Timothy Affa passed away in Pocatello on January 24, 2020 from natural causes. Timothy John Affa was born on August 20, 1960 in Torrance, California. There, he lived a wonderful childhood and began what would be his career later in life. At the age of 16 he started a humbling job at a gas station owned by Frank Scotto. After graduating from South High in Torrance, he began his endeavors within the towing industry for Frank Scotto Towing. After 41 wonderful years in the bustling business involving heavy-duty recovery and managing Cal-Western Towing Equipment, Tim finally retired in 2018. Tim loved the great outdoors and camping, so it was no surprise when he and his wife, Kathie, moved to enjoy just that in Pocatello, Idaho. There, Tim surrounded himself with nature as the mountains and winter deer range were a breath of fresh air. He spent many years with Boy Scouts with his sons, serving as a Cub Master, Scout Master, Order of the Arrow Chapter and Lodge Advisor, and District Camping Chair. There, he often achieved various awards such as the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, OA Vigil, and Founders Award. He also had excellent culinary skills; there was never a scouting cook off he didn't win at least once. Tim was a wonderful, talented and humbling man. Survived by his parents, Steve and Anita, wife Kathie, sons, Scott (Denisse) and Matthew (Stephanie), grandson Vincent, and stepson Taylor. Tim was proceeded in death by his wife Gerri, Scott and Matthews mother. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Memorial services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S 4 th Ave, on Monday January 27. 2020 at 11 a.m. 208-233-1500 A second memorial will be held in California at a later date.
