Todd James Carter, 58, of Chubbuck, ID, passed away on September 18th, 2022.
He was born on June 29th, 1964 to Paul James Carter and Kaye Karren in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the oldest of 7 boys. Todd was a gifted athlete and during his youth and high school years, he excelled in playing sports. He especially loved football. He loved playing defense and the thrill of making hard hits. That is where he began his lifelong love for the Chicago Bears. His family nicknamed him “Bear Boy”.
Todd graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1982 and in 1984 he began his 37 year career at Bonneville Industrial Supply Company (BISCO) as the Branch Manager. Throughout his career, he established many good relationships and was respected among many local businesses in the industrial and construction community.
Todd enjoyed the outdoors. He loved camping, fly fishing and spending time in Island Park and Mackay with his family. You could always find his black lab at his side. Gathering around the campfire with his bros was one of his all time favorite things to do. They would stay up late into the night discussing the existence of Sasquatch and aliens and still manage to rise before anyone else. He was very passionate about conservation and spent many years with Trout Unlimited building fences and transplanting willows to preserve the rivers. He cared deeply about our planet and the creatures who live here, even cats.
Todd was truly a great older brother and father. Over the years, he dedicated a lot of his time teaching his brothers and children many things such as fishing, riding dirt bikes, tying flies, cooking and the importance of never talking bad about Sasquatch! He also shared his extensive knowledge and love of music. He was really good at naming that tune long before XM Radio was around to display it for you. He loved belting out songs and sang beautifully. He passed this trait on to both of his children. Todd loved his family and supported them in many ways throughout the years.
Todd also loved to cook and was a huge fan of Diners, Drive Inns and Dives. At one point, the DVR was 99% full and it was all episodes of "Triple D". While traveling with family, he would try to find restaurants that were featured on the show. Some of his favorites were the Red Iguana in Salt Lake City, UT, Mama Cozza’s in Anaheim, CA and Schooner Or Later in Long Beach, CA.
Todd met his wife, Michele on June 24th of 2000 and married on June 23rd, 2001. Together, they had two amazingly talented children. He enjoyed watching his daughter, Payton, perform in dance and in live musical theater, and his son, Brody, play football and soccer. He was their biggest cheerleader and reveled in all their successes. His happiest days were the days they were born. They meant the world to him.
Todd is survived by his wife, Michele, and his two children, Payton and Brody. He is also survived by his mother, Kaye Jones (Bill) and brothers, Shaun, Travis, JJ, Aarren (Hollie) and Seth (Dana) along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Adrian, his father, Paul and his grandparents.
