Tracey Joe Daun

April 2, 1962 — October 19, 2021

Tracey Joe Daun, 59, passed away on October 19, 2021.

Tracey was born to Robert (Bob) and Sharon Daun in Pocatello, Idaho on April 2, 1962. He was the second of two sons. Tracey grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and went to Catholic school until the 4th grade where he then went to Wapello. He graduated from Blackfoot High School and went on to Vo Tech in Idaho Falls where he got his welding degree.

He married his soul mate, best friend, and love of his life on April 18, 2002. Tracey became an instant dad to three kids: Brandi, Desirae, and Bradon, who regard Tracey as their own father.

In December of 2012, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where his testimony touched the lives of so many. Tracey was a Sunday school teacher, scoutmaster, elder’s quorum president and was on the High Council. He had recently been assigned as a ward missionary with his wife Marci.

Tracey worked at INL for 21 years, Non Pariel for 32 years, and Steel West for the past eight years. On February of 2020, Tracey and Marci bought their dream home and had lots of plans for the future. In February of 2021 they had a 2nd honeymoon in Honolulu Hawaii and had the time of their lives.

Tracey loved the outdoors including hunting, camping, fishing, boating and 4-wheeling. He especially loved doing all of those activities with his wife Marci and their grandchildren. His other hobbies included welding and beekeeping with his granddaughter Brooklyn.

Tracey is survived by his wife Marci; daughters Brandi (Matt) Shaffer, Desirae (John) King, and Nicole (Kyle) Hartshorn; sons Bradon Young, Kyle (Kim) Daun, and Brandon (Tori) Daun; brother Tod Daun as well as 5 granddaughters, 8 grandsons and 3 on the way.

Tracey was preceded in death by his mom and dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and his best friend Craig Young.

Tracey was an amazing man who was loved dearly. His testimony was such an inspiration to so many.
