Vivian Luella Spradlin

March 24, 1940 — August 27, 2013

Vivian Luella Spradlin passed away Tuesday, August 27th at Portneuf Regional Medical Center. She was born to Ellsworth Anderson Lemmons and Winona Annetta Henrie Lemmons on March 24, 1940 in Burley, ID as the oldest of 7 children. The family later moved to Pocatello where she attended Pocatello High School.

She quit high school before graduation to help her mother care for her younger siblings and to help support the family after her father passed away. Despite her lack of formal education Vivian had a keen mind and adapted herself to many occupations in her lifetime including Kraft, Challenge and AMI. While her children were young she worked as a teacher's Aide at Tyhee Elementary and Irving Junior High School giving her the perfect opportunity to help support her family and be home for her children after school and during summer breaks.

In 1968 she married the love of her life, George LeRoy Bryan. George eagerly took on the role as father to her infant daughter Joddy. Five years later they were blessed with the opportunity to adopt another daughter Melissa. Tragedy struck two short years later when George was taken from them in an automobile accident. Vivian was fortunate to find love and companionship again with James Thomas Hoole. They were married for 18 years until the time of his death in 1992. In 195 she married Glenis Ray Spradlin. They had been married for 18 years after finding love with each after being long time acquaintances. Although blending families with grown children was a challenge she did her best to welcome new members to her family and soon it was a close knit group who loved each other and spent nearly every weekend together in regular family dinners.
Vivian loved to craft and cook. Every member of her family has at least one quilt she has made for them and often loved to bake just to give it away. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was fortunate to enjoy one more camping trip.

Vivian was preceded in death by her brother William Ellsworth Lemmons.

She is survived by her husband Glenis Ray Spradlin, daughter Joddy (Greg) Binggeli, daughter Melissa Martin, sister Lorinda (Don) Jenkins, brothers Dwight(May), Ivan, Leon (Twila) and Danney (Cindy), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will have an open house in lieu of a memorial service Saturday, August 31 at her home at 4pm.
