Vleata E. Green

October 2, 1938 — March 26, 2013

Vleata was born to Minnie Lou and Henry Griffin in Tampa, Florida, October 17, 1938. She was the born to this loving family and had two sisters (Nanette and Blondie) and one brother (Buddy).

She married Henry Bell (later divorced) and had two sweet daughters, Jeanne and Gloria Bell.

She worked in Omaha, Nebraska, where she met the love of her life, Doug Green. Doug was serving in the air force and when they fell in love. A greater love has never been known. They moved to Pocatello to start their lives together. They soon brought into the world their son, Richard “Rusty” Douglas Green. Their family grew and thrived together. The family had to leave Pocatello when Garrett's Freight line closed and moved to Denver and later on, to Phoenix. Vleata loved watching Doug and Rusty play ball. She was their biggest fan. You could hear her “southern” voice yelling encouragement everywhere.

Vleata worked at the Airport restaurant, Holiday Inn, Halliwell Drug Store, the Down- Under in Pocatello. She managed McDonald's for 21 years, loving every minute of it. Vleata loved working in the food service industry. She always served others with class, style and a smile.

She was greatly loved by her family and close friends. Her friend Ruby Hansen had a special place in Vleata's heart--they were the best buddies ever. Vleata was loved and admired by her sisters-in-law Debbie and Marlene Green. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Vleata leaves behind her loving husband Doug Green, son Rusty (Rhonda) Green and daughter Jeanne (Marty) Guderjahn. She has six grandchildren: Brittney, Courtney, and Hunter Green, Brett & Bryant Johnston; Gabe Thorne. She has 10 great-grandchildren, Leslie, Katie, Dorothy Ann, Kira, Natasha, Zoe, Cheyenne, Chloe, Chase River, Andras, Angel and Buddy, two nephews Jason and Jim (Hillary) Thompson. From Vleata's side of the family her nieces and nephews would be Christine, Tommy, Debbie, Mikey, (Nanatte), Bubba, Andy, Patrick, (Blondie).
