Our beloved mother, grandmother and cherished friend Mrs. Ada Dee (Muir) McIntosh, age 90, of Chubbuck passed away on January 14, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.
Ada Dee was born September 20, 1935 in Bancroft, Idaho and was the oldest of six children born to Stephen Lamoni Muir and Mona Dee Burton of Chesterfield, Idaho.
In 1951, Ada Dee married David I. Moss of Rockland, Idaho. The young couple would later move to a cattle ranch in Lima, Montana where she lived for the next 13 years and raised 4 children. She was an extremely devoted mother who worked hard to keep her family centered and to support ranch operations by cooking for the hired men, bookkeeping and running errands. The couple later divorced in 1967.
In 1971, Ada Dee married Wallace F. Eldridge of Pocatello, Idaho and eventually moved to Sugar City where they lived for nearly 40 years. During this time, she would witness the loss of her home during the collapse of the Teton Dam and resulting flood devastation, re-build a new home on their property and develop a ceramics business and storefront where she conducted classes and operated a store. She served numerous callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and also served four missions to the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah from 2001 to 2008.
The couple eventually moved to Pocatello, Idaho about 2010 where Wallace died in 2012.
In 2014, Ada Dee married Roy McIntosh of Pocatello, Idaho. They remained together until his passing in 2016.
She enjoyed music, playing the piano and singing, sewing, crochet, ceramics and spending time with her family. Ada Dee retired from the Sugar City School District in 2000 where she retired as a teacher's aide.
Ada Dee was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her journey on this earth was one marked by love of family and her faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many others whose lives were touched by her.
She is survived by her son James (Lorrie) Moss of Marsing, Idaho; daughters Wendy (Bert) McLaughlin of Parker, ID and Renee (David) Neumann of Saratoga Springs, UT; a brother Stephen (Larue) Muir of Pocatello and a sister Linda (Gary) Stumbo of Blackfoot. Ada Dee had 16 grandchildren and 29 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by seven step-children Vicki Newman, Sandy Jones, Donn and Bill Eldridge; and Jeff and Jerry McIntosh and Erin Hillier.
She was preceded in death by husbands Wallace F. Eldridge and Roy M. McIntosh; a daughter Trudy
Lynn Moss who was stillborn; a son Levi David Moss who died in a farming accident; brothers Eldon Albert Muir and Max Gene Muir and her sister Patricia Ann Wahl; a granddaughter Kimberly Herrera and grandson Steven Walker.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Felila Fountain of Pocatello, Idaho, for her dedicated service and care over the past two years and her brother, Stephen Muir, who stayed with her many times to provide comfort and cheer.
Additionally, we would like to thank The Homestead Assisted Living Center and Hospice in Rexburg, Idaho, for the compassion and support provided to Ada Dee prior to her passing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20 at the Hiline Ward on 4890 Whitaker Road in Chubbuck Idaho where Ada Dee resided prior to her death. A viewing will be held prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service for the family will follow the funeral service at the Chesterfield Cemetery.
