Alice Campbell, 85, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, after an extended time of cardiovascular illness.
She was born July 10, 1939. Her parents were Huck and Edna Campbell. She was born in Trenton, NJ, and finished grade school in Morristown, NJ. She attended junior high school in Oakland, CA, and graduated high school in 1957 in Fremont, CA, near the top of her class. She started college at the University of Idaho and graduated from Washington State University majoring in Animal Husbandry.
Alice loved the West, working in CA, CO, AZ, and WY. While working in an animal lab at Washington State University, she saw a listing for similar work at Idaho State University. From there on she has been a Pocatello resident. Besides working in the university lab, she tutored many ISU students. She aspired to be a veterinarian and studied animal science her adult life.
Alice was involved with CW Hogg in Pocatello. She especially enjoyed archery. She also loved horseback riding, both backcountry endurance and English equitation. She provided riding lessons for young developing riders on her horses.
She is survived by her loyal cousin Paul McHugh, Jr, New Jersey, and by step siblings in CA and NV. She will be missed by her many friends in the Pocatello area who supported her and shared her dedication to animals.
Thanks to the staff at Monte Vista Hills and the Portneuf Medical Center for the care and support she received.
