Angela Hofstrand, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 17, 2026. Born in Napa, California, on December 8, 1964, Angela lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication to her family and community.
Angela's life was a testament to her warm spirit and generous heart. She met her sweetheart, Jeffrey, at a dance when she was just 14 years old. They started dating in their college years at BYU, and later were married in Oakland, California, on June 8, 1985, for time and all eternity. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their children in Southern Oregon before establishing roots in Vacaville and Winters, California. In October 2024, they moved to Chubbuck, Idaho, to be closer to their cherished family.
Throughout her life, Angela was a pillar of service. She dedicated herself to various roles, including CSEA chapter president, girls camp director, and for 17 years, served as the food facilitator for BSA Camp Cole. She also volunteered to teach families how to apply for scholarships for Winters High School. Her faith was a guiding force, leading her to serve in numerous church callings, including seminary teacher, and in Young Women’s, Relief Society, and Primary presidencies. Angela and Jeff recently completed a three-year church mission teaching an addiction recovery program, a testament to their shared commitment to helping others.
Professionally, Angela made a significant impact. She worked for the Winters Joint Unified School District as an aide for special-needs children, a secretary, and a payroll clerk. Most recently, she served as the Human Resource Director and Board of Directors Liaison at the Yolo Food Bank, a role she embraced with passion and dedication.
Angela's greatest joy came from her family. She cherished family road trips, always with her camera in hand to capture precious moments. Whatever creative hobby Angela wanted to do, she taught herself. Her cookie decorating, sewing for her grandchildren, baking, cooking, and event planning brought smiles to many faces. She also enjoyed watching movies, cheering for the San Francisco Giants, and sharing popcorn. Above all, Angela treasured spending time with her family and creating lasting memories with her eight beloved grandchildren.
Angela is preceded in death by her parents, David Brunson and Linda McKernan (Rousseau), and her sister, Christina Ferrell. Her legacy of love and service lives on through her children, James, Ryan, and Taylor (Bunn), and her eight grandchildren.
The family is deeply grateful for all the well wishes and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, they kindly suggest considering a donation to the recently established high school scholarship fund in Angela's honor, sponsored by the Yolo Community Fund at http://www.sacregcf.org/widewideworld.
