Anne Lucille (Anderson) Reynolds, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 92 years old on April 15, 2026, in Chubbuck, Idaho. Anne was born on January 14, 1934, to Vernor Woolley and Margaret (Hemphill) Anderson in Hayward, California. She graduated from Berkeley High School in 1951. Early on, she worked as a cashier at Woolworth’s and then as a telephone switchboard operator.
She met William James “Bill” Pinto in 1952, and they were subsequently married in Reno, Nevada. They had four children together: Douglas, Mark (Gayle Heymann), Philip (Valeri) Pinto and Beth Anne (Michael) Huston. They were divorced in 1978.
Anne became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1978 and worked in various settings in Nevada and Texas. As a home health nurse in Texas, she would travel all over Southeast Texas into poor, rural areas to care for people. She taught them how to make soup from vegetable scraps and brought them fresh produce from her garden to help them get by. She was known to go above and beyond in this capacity.
Anne suffered through a lot of hardships in her life – from physical ailments to the effects of World War II and the Great Depression, and finally to paralysis from a stroke later in life – but she was always positive and full of laughter, impressing the people around her and making many friends along the way.
In 1983, Anne and Cecil Dean “Deanie Bird” Reynolds were married by Merle Haggard on his “Hotel Troubadour” houseboat on Lake Shasta in California. Dean was a professional country and blue grass stand-up bass player who played with several big-name stars such as Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. They moved to Texas and had a small farm where they hosted lots of impromptu jam sessions. These years were the highlight of mom’s life filled with love, laughter, music, and good friends.
Anne is survived by all four of her children, grandchildren Victoria “Tori” Rose (Matt) Montrose, Jessica Lynn (Justin) Mekelburg, Kenji (Yoko) Pinto, Koji Pinto, Benjamin (Trinity Flowers) Huston, Jacob (Zoie Brown) Huston, Aaron Huston, Max Pinto, and Andrew Huston, and ten great grandchildren. Mom/Grandma, we love you “five hours till tomorrow” (from grandson Andrew at 3 years old).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 524 North 7th Ave., Pocatello, ID 83201 on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
Memories and condolences may be shared using the Guestbook below.
