Austin Jacob Mills

Austin Jacob Mills, 25, passed away on April 10, 2026. He was born on June 5, 2000, in Boise, Idaho, where he spent the first ten years of his life before moving with his family to the Pocatello area. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 2018, carrying with him friendships, memories, and a spirit that left an impression on everyone who crossed his path.

Austin had a presence that was impossible to forget — big blue eyes, a contagious laugh, a bright, effortless smile, and a heart that opened itself to everyone. He loved deeply, cared freely, and made people feel seen in a way that was uniquely his.

Though he was never married, Austin found his true love early in life. He met Samantha Diaz in 2011, and their bond grew into a devoted partnership in 2020. Together for more than six years, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. Sam was his home, his joy, and the person who understood him best.

Austin embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. He loved the energy and freedom of raves, the simple joy of bringing home new plants to brighten his room, and the comfort of spending time with family and friends. He had a special tenderness for animals — a natural, gentle connection that reflected the kindness at the core of who he was.

He worked in the hospitality industry, a field that suited him perfectly. Austin thrived in environments where he could meet new people, share stories, and brighten someone’s day with his warmth and humor. He had a gift for making strangers feel like friends.

Austin’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of light that lingers long after someone is gone. He will be remembered for his kindness, his joy, his loyalty, and the way he made the world softer simply by being in it.

He is survived by his mother, Hillary (Jerome) Johnson; father, Donavan (Megan) Mills; brother, Tyler (Taura) Graybill Mills; girlfriend, Samantha Diaz; grandparents, Diana Mills, Mark Prescott and Jolene Johnson; aunts and uncles, Jeff (Tracy) Prescott, Brady (Melaine) Prescott, Holly Hathaway, Katie Garcia, Deanna (Bert) Mathews, Brett (LaVeina) Mills; step brothers and sister, Adyn Shellhorn, Sage Davis, Eathan Johnson, Addilyn Johnson and Devin Johnson; numerous aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, cousins, second cousins, and many more that were family to him than just friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Mills, Pat Prescott and Terry Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID. A viewing will be held prior beginning at 12:30 pm.
