Brandon Thomas Whyte returned home to his Heavenly Parents on October 22, 2022. Brandon was born March 17, 2007 in Pocatello, ID to Scott and Rachel Whyte. He has an older sister, Emily, who passed away before he was born. He was later joined by his brother, Evan.
Brandon was a handful from day one. He loved to laugh and was often found getting into spaces he did not belong, including inside the fridge and behind the stove. This desire to experience everything in life continued as he grew.
When he was little, he played soccer for several years. However, by the time he was seven, he had found his true love when he started Tae Kwon Do which he studied for many years. Eventually he worked his way into other martial arts including Jiu Jitsu, MMA, and Muay Thai. He was working towards being able to compete in MMA. He also loved working out and got his first bench press at the age of twelve. He wore out two bench presses and was currently on his third. At a young age his father started teaching him to play chess. He grew to love the game and won more than he lost.
One of the things he loved most was being with his parents and little brother. He loved everything from taking walks to feed the ducks with them to the family vacations they took. He especially loved the trip they took to the ocean.
Brandon was a sophomore at Century High School. He loved his friends, and he loved being involved in choir. He often could be found singing and regularly sang in the shower.
Brandon had spoken a few times about a desire to be an organ donor. We chose to honor that desire. Brandon’s gift of life has been given to five people. We know he would be proud of this decision and his ability to help other people. We are proud of him for expressing this desire.
Brandon is loved by more people than he could possibly imagine and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his parents; his brother, Evan; grandparents, Marvin and Karen Whyte (Idaho Falls, ID) and Carl Sivula (Springfield, ID); and countless others who love him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Emily; his grandma, Marjorie Sivula; and a multitude of loved ones who welcomed him home.
A public viewing for Brandon will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the LDS Caldwell Park church building, 135 S. 7th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho. Services will be on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 am also at the church. The family will have a private viewing prior to the services. Brandon will be interred, by his sister, in the Springfield/Sterling Cemetery, Springfield, Idaho.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
