Carolyn Jones passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 9, 2026, following a brief illness.
Carolyn was born on June 18, 1948, to Farrell and Gloria Jones. Much to her parent’s surprise Carolyn was a twin and was blessed with her twin sister Marilyn Jones (Goy). Growing up a twin was such a special part of Carolyn’s childhood. Marilyn and Carolyn did many things together including dance. Carolyn also played the piano when she was younger and the clarinet in band. Many of their summers were spent on the California Coast with family.
Carolyn attended elementary school in Pocatello at Green Acres School. She then moved to Malad, where her parents were originally from, and graduated from Malad High School in 1966.
Carolyn never married. She became the extra special auntie who spent lots of time with her nieces and nephews and created many memories with them. Carolyn was blessed with 5 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, and 6 great great nieces and nephews. The stories and adventures they had with Carolyn will always be held close in their hearts and bring smiles to their faces.
Carolyn participated in the Swift program where she learned work-related skills and made good friends. She also worked at Arby’s in Pocatello and worked hard serving her community. Carolyn also spent time at the Lincoln Learning Center working with preschool kids that had developmental learning disabilities.
Some of Carolyn’s favorite past times included going to the mall and meeting her friends for lunch. Carolyn had a love for reading and was always bringing home a new book to read and could be found falling asleep in bed with her newest book. She loved playing board games, snuggling with her dogs, doing word searches, she had unlimited patience doing puzzles, and had an absolute love for good food.
Carolyn will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 439 N. Hayes Ave. Graveside services to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Pocatello, ID. A luncheon will be held in her honor at 1:00 PM at the Juniper Hills Country Club, 6600 Bannock Highway in Pocatello, ID.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Farrell & Gloria Jones and her younger sister Jennifer Dixon. Carolyn is survived by her twin sister Marilyn Goy and brother-in-law Gary Goy and all her nieces and nephews. We love you Carolyn!
