Obituary

Cheryl Elaine Leforgee, a devoted wife, mother, and active community member, passed away peacefully at age 79 on May 25, 2026. Born in Ellsworth, Kansas, on October 2, 1946, Cheryl lived a life rich in love, service, and treasured experiences.

Cheryl met Rex Leforgee in Salina, Kansas. They married in September 1966 and moved to Idaho in 1968, where they formed a long, happy life together, raising three boys, building a business, and partnering in the community.

Cheryl was a homemaker who spent many an hour chauffeuring their sons to sporting events, piano lessons, and many other activities. Summers were always a highlight, spent at their cabin in Stanley, a place where she created lasting memories.

Cheryl also dedicated many tax seasons to assisting Rex at his CPA firm. After the boys grew up, she worked as a secretary at Robert Stuart Jr. High and at Rogers Brothers Seed Co.After retirement, Cheryl found immense joy in traveling the world with Rex. Their adventures included an African Safari, cruising the Black Sea, Machu Picchu, and the Galapagos.

Cheryl dedicated her time and talents to various organizations, demonstrating her commitment to her community. She was an active volunteer at the Magic Valley Arts Council and the Twin Falls Library Foundation. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life, as she was actively involved in PEO and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of 59 years, Rex; her sons, Jason (Caralee), Shelby (JoAndi), and Paul; her nephew, Scott; and her niece, Kristi. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Juanita Kempke, and her sister, Carol Black.

Cheryl's Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 9:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2055 Falls Ave E., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 2296 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301, immediately after the Memorial Service.
