Connie Sue Taylor

September 17, 1945 — January 11, 2026

Pocatello

Connie Sue Taylor, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on January 11, 2026 in Pocatello, Idaho, after complications due to surgery.

Connie was born in Burley, Idaho, on September 17, 1945 to Blanche Gillette and Stephen Willis Osterhout. She attended Springdale grade school, Junior high and high school in Burley Idaho. She later moved to McCammon and then to Pocatello.

Connie’s first marriage resulted in two children. On April 25, 1987, she married the real love of her life, Jay Nolan Taylor. Jay had four children that also became a part of their family. They enjoyed years of camping, fishing, snow machining and good times with friends and family.

They purchased an old shack (toll station) at Blackfoot Reservoir that they modified and turned into a really nice cabin where they would throw a summer party every year for family and friends. Many good times were had at the Blackfoot Reservoir.

Jay passed away in 1998. Connie met Jack Erickson in 1999 and he soon became her significant other and member of our family.

Connie worked most of her life, over 40 years, as an LPN after receiving her nursing certificate at a fairly young age. She worked at Cassia Memorial, Bannock Memorial and for Dr. Desano. Connie retired from nursing in 2006 and had been living the good life and staying active ever since.

Connie was a very fun-loving, life-of-the-party type person and loved to socialize. She was very kind and compassionate but not the type of person to be taken advantage of. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, and gardening. She also loved the indoors, sewing, bowling, darts, and cooking yummy treats for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family and was very pleased that all of her family could be with her during her last hours on this physical earth.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche Osterhout and Stephen Willis Osterhout; her husband, Jay Nolan Taylor; brother-in-law, Wayne Jolley; nephew, Steven Jolley, and son-in-law, Curtis Kell.

She is survived by her loving and faithful companion, Jack Erickson; sister, Joann Jolley; brother, Kent (Annette); children, Todd Adams (Kathy), Misty Turner (Jack), Lynn Taylor (Karolyn), Richard Taylor (Susan), Ranee Taylor Kell, and Russell Taylor (Melissa); 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we shared with her and the legacy of love she leaves behind. A celebration of life will be held at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
