Darwin Moyer Ford, affectionately known as Dar was Born in Ogden, Utah, on August 13, 1954. Dar was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1972. In 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Amy White. They had two daughters, Laura in 1976 and Jill in 1978. The two later divorced in 1989.
Dar began working as a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad in 1974 and remained there for 40 years until his retirement in 2014. His love of trains began in childhood during visits to his grandparents in Kansas City, Missouri. He was happy to have a career that involved his love of the railroad.
In 1995, he married the love of his life, Max Cooper. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family.
Dar found peace outdoors—whether fishing, floating a river, enjoying Yellowstone or Lake Powell, or watching the hydroplane races in Kennewick. He was also happiest with a golf club in hand and a glass of fine whiskey, chocolate, or coconut treat nearby.
He is survived by his daughters Laura of Chubbuck, ID and Jill (Curtis) of Meridianville, Alabama, stepsons Rich (Nicia) of Syracuse, UT and T.J. (AdriAnne) of West Haven, UT, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother Bryant of St George, UT, and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the care teams at Brookdale, Symbii Hospice, AMR, Family Resource, and Trios for their support during Dar’s final days.
