Debora Louise Sage

February 23, 1957 — March 2, 2026

Pocatello

Debora Louise Sage passed away on March 2, 2026, in Pocatello, Idaho, after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer. She was 69 years old.

Debora was born on February 23, 1957, in Kennewick, Washington, to Le Roy and Emma Jean Butts. From the beginning, she carried a light that drew people to her. A true Southern belle at heart, Debora loved people deeply and made friends everywhere she went. Her kindness was genuine, her smile inviting, and her ability to make others feel seen and loved was one of her greatest gifts.

She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her patients were never just patients — they were people she served with compassion, tenderness, and respect. Nursing wasn’t just her career; it was a reflection of who she was.

Debora was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she faithfully held and magnified many callings throughout her life. Her love for the Savior shaped the way she lived — always serving, always lifting, always loving. She and her eternal sweetheart, Kip Sage, shared a beautiful life together filled with faith, travel, and service. One of their cherished experiences was serving a mission for their church, where they worked closely with the Navajo people, teaching them how to grow gardens and help strengthen the community. Debora held a special place in her heart for the Native American people and treasured the relationships built during that time.

Above all else, Debora’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Summer (Will) Hatch, Dusty (Wendy) Jackson; Rett (Jennifer) Sage, Tyrel (Megan) Sage, BreeAnn (Romain) Foucher, Seth (Jessica) Sage, her 19 beloved grandchildren and her siblings, Tom (Ruth) Prater, Teresa (Norman) Rugg, and Lee (Debra) Buetts, and their children. Her family was a constant source of happiness and pride, and she loved spending time with each of them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Le Roy Butts; her mother, Emma Jean Butts; and her eternal companion, Kip Sage, whom she has surely been joyfully reunited with.

Debora leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, resilience, and kindness. After 11 years of courageously battling cancer, her strength never wavered, and her sweetness never diminished. She taught those around her how to endure with grace and how to love without reservation.

She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and remembered for the way she made others feel — valued, welcomed, and loved.
