DeLone Bloxham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home, on August 26, 2024. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones.
DeLone was born on March 25, 1940 in Inkom, Idaho to Melvin Floyd Solomon and Pearl Romriell Solomon of Inkom, Idaho. She grew up and attended schools in Inkom and Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School.
She met Don Bloxham when she worked as a carhop at the old A&W on Oak Street in Pocatello, and it was love at first sight. They dated for many years, and she waited for him while he served in the National Guard and completed a 2 1/2 year mission in Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On April 26, 1963, they married in the Idaho Falls Temple, and were blessed with five children, 2 boys and 3 girls.
DeLone graduated from beauty school and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. Don and DeLone eventually settled in Springville, Utah where they would live for 40 years. She was actively involved in the PTA, both as a PTA President and as a regional director. She also worked as an elementary school teacher’s aide and she was able to impact many kids lives. She was also a librarian at the Springville library for many years. Don was a professor and the Health Professions Advisor at Brigham Young University for 28 years. They were huge supporters of BYU athletics.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and faithfully served in many positions which included Relief Society President, Primary President and Young Women’s leader. Don and DeLone also served in the Calgary Alberta mission from 2007-2009, stationed in Lethbridge.
Family was most important to her, she loved gathering for family dinners, recognizing birthdays, and celebrating holidays together. She loved to travel with her entire family to many fun destinations including Orlando, Williamsburg, and Hawaii.
DeLone is survived by son, Richard (Nancy) Bloxham of Pocatello, ID;
daughter, Dawn (Mark) Henning of Omaha, NE;
son, Mark (Dawn) Bloxham of Spanish Fork, UT;
daughter, Tara (Mark) Moyes of Bluffdale, UT;
eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Melvin and Earnest), sister (Dora), husband (Don) and daughter (Kimberli).
The family would also like to thank the staff at Copper Summit Assisted Living and Heritage Home Health & Hospice for the loving care they provided to her.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11 am at the LDS church, 2271 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, with a viewing from 9:30-11 am prior. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
