Delwyn Kays came into this world on February 4, 1963, in the cozy town of Taree, Australia, bringing joy to her parents, Ken and Dorothy Drury. God brought her and her soulmate together at Kingsley Bible College in 1984, sparking a love story that would span continents and decades.
On December 20, 1986, Delwyn and James were married, beginning a journey that took them from the bustling streets of Melbourne, Australia to the beautiful city of Clairemont, California, and eventually bringing them here, to Pocatello, Idaho where she lived until her passing on May 9, 2024. Through it all, their bond grew stronger, a testament to 37 years of love, joy, and unwavering support.
Delwyn's life was a beautiful melody composed of faith, family, and service. Being very active at University Bible Church, she poured her heart into organizing the AWANA Bible Club, leaving an unforgettable mark on the lives she touched. She homeschooled all 5 of her children and taught them, with everything she had, to follow Jesus and to love God above all else.
Her joys were simple yet meaningful—caring for her family, diving into the pages of her beloved Bible, and sewing baby slings for families in need. She found solace in the beauty of nature, relishing walks with her loved ones and finding inspiration in the melodies of Christian music.
Delwyn's legacy lives on in the hearts of her devoted husband, Jim, her beloved children—Nathan, Tauryel, Abraham, Sarah, and David— her seven siblings and her seven beautiful grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She will be very dearly missed. We can only imagine the joy she must be experiencing in heaven and so we must say goodbye for now until we see her again.
