Dennis D. Moore

March 16, 1941 — June 23, 2025

Dennis Dee Moore, 84, of Pocatello, passed away June 23, 2025 at his home, from congestive heart failure.

The youngest of three children (siblings Kathleen and Wallace Jr), Dennis (Dee) was born on March 16, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho to Wallace and LaVinna Moore. Walley was born in Oakley, Idaho and Vinnie was raised in Downy, Idaho. She met Walley while visiting Pocatello with her friends, at a dance party. They raised their children in a cozy home in Pocatello where three generations of family have experienced loving, joyful, and sometimes difficult family gatherings, each one shaping the family to become their own unique version of mostly curious, kind and positive members of society.

Dee attended Pocatello High School and graduated in 1959. He attended some classes at Idaho State College. He left college and joined the Idaho National Guard in March of 1962. He was honorably discharged in March of 1968.

On May 25, 1968 Dee married Paula Anne Jenkins at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pocatello, Idaho. Dee worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman, yardmaster, brakeman, and conductor. He finished his railroad career working as a trainer of engineers, conductors, brakemen and switchmen. He retired in 2002. After retiring he became active in many hobbies including, but not limited to, joining a car club and showing off his hot rods at regional car shows, playing pickle ball, Tai Chi, New Knowledge Adventures, and continuing with various church activities.

Dee was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Vinnie Moore; an older brother, Wally Moore Jr.; his wife, Paula Moore; and a daughter, Ramona (Ramia) Moore (Assous). He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Perkins; his children, Don Jenkins, David Moore, Paul Moore and Denise Moore; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dee was a devoted husband, son, and father who will go down in history for his unwavering commitment to his family, the Catholic Church and the surrounding community. He was a person who would give “the shirt off his back” if someone needed it, no questions asked. Dee’s legacy lives on through his family and friends.
