Don Ray Dance, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 26, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Don was the youngest of five children, born on May 17, 1950, in American Falls, Idaho, to Myron and Emma Dance. He attended school in Aberdeen, Idaho, where he met the love of his life, Carla Marie Chapple. The two were married on December 15, 1967, and together built a life centered on love, family, and hard work while raising their four sons.
In 1969, Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he attended Idaho State University, where he earned an associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology. He went on to work for the United States Department of Agriculture, Union Pacific Railroad, and New Day Products and Resources, where he found great joy not only in his work but in teaching others his woodworking skills.
Don was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He found his greatest happiness in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his stubbornness in a lovable way.
Don is survived by his sons: Ron (Lorie), Ryan (Heidi), Philip (Angel), and Joe (Kandie); along with 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Emma; his beloved wife, Carla; his brothers, Cal and Philip; and his sisters, Adriene and Celia.
His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the memories they will carry with them always.
