Donald Eugen Barton Jr. “Mojave” was born on June 1st, 1949, in Ridgecrest Ca. to Donald Eugene Barton Sr. and Joan Marie Williams. Don often went by the name "Mojave" or "Mojo" being born in the Mojave Desert.

He was very creative and at a young age taught himself to play the guitar. After the Vietnam war he tried plumbing and accounting. Being a "free spirit", he discovered "riding the rails.” For many years he traveled by rail, seeing the country and making lifelong friends.

Later in life Mojave settled down, married and he and his wife Josie hosted many of their hobo friends. Everyone always had a place to sleep and a home cooked meal.

Mojave and Josie were both very generous sponsoring two children from St. Jude for many years. The St. Jude children's pictures were always on their wall with letters exchanged. They both had so much love to give.

Mojave was very intelligent and had many stories which were always interesting and infused with laughter.

He was kind and considerate and loyal. He loved his cats Bootsie and Star who loved him back.

Mojave is preceded in death by his wife Josie and many friends. He has left on the "Westbound train" and is with them now. Telling stories.

Mojave will be fondly remembered by his many friends and family.

The family is very thankful for the exceptional care Mojave received throughout the years from many compassionate and caring people: His health care team, Enhabit Hospice, Willard House, Consumer Care LLC and Wilks Funeral Home.

Mojave will be buried beside his wife Josie at the St. Richards Cemetery in Columbia Falls, Montana in the future.
