Donna Joyce Colip

December 1, 1936 — September 3, 2025

Donna Joyce Colip passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho, at the age of 88. Born on December 1, 1936, in Los Angeles, California. Donna lived a life defined by faith, love, and selfless devotion to her family.

Her greatest pride and joy in life was being a homemaker, devoted wife, and a loving mother. She poured her heart into creating a warm, stable home where her family always felt safe, cared for, and unconditionally loved. She lived most of her life in Merced, California, in the same home for over 50 years - a place filed with countless memories, laughter, and the steady presence of her quiet strength.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude "Bud" Colip, in 2012, and her brother, James Owen, in 2022. She is survived by her children, Steven Colip and Kelly Odishoo; and her cherished grandchildren, Makayla Blevins, Allison & Emily Odishoo, who were the light of her life.

In her younger years, Donna loved camping and fishing with her family, painting, traveling - always drawn to the beauty of nature and the joy of simple moments. She also had a passion for gardening and spent many joyful hours tending to her roses. Donna sang in the choir at Central Presbyterian Church and lived her faith everyday, guided by her strong belief in Jesus Christ. She frequently shared bible verses and the Serenity Prayer with those around her and often reminded others, "This too shall pass".

She worked later in life as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Atwater Highschool, where her kindness and patience made a difference in many young lives.

Donna never raised her voice. She had a calm, gentle presence, sweet smile, and beautiful blue eyes that could put anyone at ease. Her spirit was steady, loving, and full of grace.

As her dementia progressed and she could no longer care for herself, her daughter Kelly moved her to Pocatello, Idaho, to live with her and be near her grandchildren - a final chapter filled with love, dignity, and family.

According to her wishes, Donna was cremated. Her daughter Kelly will carry out her final journey, spreading her ashes in places Donna held dear and among the loved ones who passed before her.

Donna's legacy is one of love, devotions, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

No formal services will be held.
