Donna Lenora King, 82, passed away on July 24, 2025.
Donna Lenora Olsen King was born August 3, 1942. She was the second of six children born to Earl Llewellyn Olsen and Gertrude Ellen Misner Olsen. Donna was born and raised in Pocatello, ID. She graduated from Pocatello High School.
After graduation, Donna worked at the Kraft Foods plant until she was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for 18 months in the Southern California mission.
Upon her return from her mission, Donna married her sweetheart, Richard William King. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 18, 1965. Richard and Donna just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Donna is the beloved mother of three children, Cristi King, Vicki King Johnson, and Richard L. King.
As a young mother she worked at ZCMI Department Store as a sales associate. In later years, she enjoyed working as a teller for various banks located in California and Washington State.
Donna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various organizations within the church, but most often in Young Women and Primary. She found such joy in teaching the youth. Her compassionate, sweet demeanor helped form strong bonds with the youth. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with.
Donna loved traveling. She was able to visit Scotland and Ireland with family. It was a highlight in her life to visit the countries of her ancestors.
Donna loved camping and fishing. When her family was young, they camped frequently. In later years, she and Richard often enjoyed their peaceful trailer camping at Mt. Rainier. Donna was an enthusiastic fan at all of her son’s sporting events.
She was brilliant with a needle and thread. She enjoyed tying quilts with her mom. Her crochet hooks, knitting needles, and yarn were never far from reach. Her family and friends are the lucky recipients of her works of art.
Donna’s greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma.
She is missed by all who were blessed enough to be loved by her. Her smile lit up a room. Her hugs warmed your heart. Both were given unstintingly. She is missed and adored beyond measure. Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that families and love can be eternal through the atonement of our loving Savior Jesus Christ. They look forward to that beautiful reunion.
