Doris Elaine Harrison

July 8, 1937 — August 9, 2025

Pocatello

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Doris Elaine Cook Harrison.

Doris was born in Adrian, Oregon on July 8th, 1937, to her parents, William Wesley Cook and Eula Mae Cook. Doris dies at the age of 88 in Pocatello, Idaho, after a long illness.

Doris excelled in athletics and academics from a young age. She was also a very talented musician with the ability/gift of being able to play multiple instruments with ease. Doris went on to college and earned a bachelor's degree from U.C. Berkley and a master's degree from S.F. State; specializing in early childhood education for special needs children. Doris worked with special needs children for several years until her vision loss forced her to change careers. With help of a sight machine that assisted her by magnifying text, Doris worked for Levi Strauss in San Francisco for many years until her vision forced her to retire.

Doris' greatest accomplishment was raising her three sons as a single mother. She worked tirelessly to support her kids and was unbelievably good example of what dedication to your family looks like.

Doris is survived by her three sons, William Blake (Lisa), Dean Scott (Jacqueline), and James Cody (Shelley) Harrison. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her sister, Virginia Baker, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Wesley Cook and Eula Mae Mansfield Cook.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00  pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 Indiana Avenue, Caldwell, ID 83607.
