Douglas Len Brenchley, affectionately known as Doug, was born on August 4, 1948, in Logan, Utah, and passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho. Doug spent much of his youth immersed in the beauty of the landscapes he loved, having moved to Pocatello at the tender age of four.
A proud graduate of Highland High School, Doug's life was marked by his dedication to community and family. He was an active participant in the Boy Scouts of America, where he embraced the values of leadership and service. His faith also played a significant role in his life as an engaged member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which provided him with a strong sense of family and community.
Doug’s professional journey included a meaningful tenure at American Potato in Blackfoot, Idaho, where he was appreciated for his hardworking nature and commitment to his role. Outside of work, Doug found immense joy in exploring the deserts of Idaho, where he spent countless hours searching for arrowheads and unique rocks—a reflection of his inquisitive spirit.
Doug had a special bond with his family, dedicating much of his life to caring for his parents as they entered retirement. After the passing of his father, Len Brenchley, Doug took on the responsibility of looking after his mother, proving to be a source of unwavering support and care.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Lawana (Miller) Brenchley, and his siblings: Tom Brenchley; Alecia & Ren French; DeAnn & Bill Denney; Dawn & Randy Moore; David & Brenda Brenchley; Wendy & Lannie Workman; and Jennifer & Evan Harrison. Though he never married, Doug's loving spirit extended to his familial relationships, leaving a lasting impact on his brothers and sisters (and in-laws).
Doug's journey has also been touched by the sorrow of loss, including the passing of his father, Len Brenchley, and his cherished niece, Kylie Brenchley.
Remembered for his caring nature and helpful demeanor, Doug will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and commitment to family will continue to inspire and guide all who have been fortunate enough to cross his path.
