Our loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 100 years.

Ed was born on January 12, 1926, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho to George Firebaugh and Emily Durfee Firebaugh. He grew up on the family farm and went to school in Shoshone, Idaho and Glenns Ferry, Idaho. He played football in high school and graduated from Glenns high school in 1944.

After graduation, he went into the Navy in January 1944. He spent most of his Navy time in the South Pacific and Hawaii. After his honorable discharge in May of 1946, he came home and married Florence Fish in June of 1946. From that marriage Ed and Florence had four children, Steve Firebaugh, Ken (Pam) Firebaugh of Pocatello, Linda (Norb Groh) Firebaugh, Daniel (Bonnie) Firebaugh (both deceased). Ed and Florence later divorced.

In 1960, Ed married BarDee Stowe. At that time, he accepted with open arms the raising of her three children, Karla Hennings Taylor (deceased), Kyle Hennings, and Kaylene (Gary) Hennings Threet (deceased).

Ed loved being with his kids in the summertime and taking all seven children on all kinds of trips to Yellowstone and all down the Oregon coast to L.A. and Disneyland. He was an exceptional father.

Ed was raised on the farm with a family of seven, Erven (deceased), Elsie (deceased), Verginia (deceased), George (deceased), Betty (deceased), and his youngest sister, Ann Boyd who is currently living in Texas.

He also enjoyed going on many outings with BarDee’s family; her mother, Merle Stowe; sister, Gail (Harry) Mayne; sister, MarJean (Don) Sargent, and BarDee’s brother, William T Stowe.

Ed was an electrician all of his life and spent the last years before retiring with J.R. Simplot. He always loved his work. After retiring, he spent many winters in Arizona. He enjoyed camping, two trips to Hawaii, and three cruises in the Caribbean, Mexico and the Bahamas.

The last years of Ed’s life he enjoyed all the people he met at the Senior Center and Senior Karaoke.

Ed has 17 grandkids, lots of great grandkids, and about 12 great great grandkids.
