Eleanor Lavelle Medley

On Sunday, July 28, 2024, Eleanor Medley, wife, and mother of three children, died and went to join her Savior, Jesus, at the age of 92. 

She was born on January 7, 1932, in Filer, Idaho, to Delbert and Frances Modlin. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1950. 

Eleanor married Kennard Medley on December 16, 1967. He became father to her three children, Thomas, Barbara, and Nancy. She moved with her family to Pocatello during 1970. 

Eleanor joined J.R. Simplot Company as a secretary for the research section of the Minerals and Chemicals Department. She retired in 1993 as Executive Assistant to then President Dean Travis of the Pocatello Fertilizer Division.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas; and brother, Robert Modlin. 

She is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Barbara (Norm) Schroder and Nancy (Wade) Zurcher; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A private inurnment will be held on September 13,2024 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, ID. Her memorial and celebration of life will be Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Pocatello where she was a member since 1993.
