Geneva Marsing

Geneva Pearl Vance Marsing, 85, of Pocatello, passed away on June 18, 2009 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Geneva was born August 5, 1923 in Kemp, Texas, daughter of Beacher Lonnie and Annie Flora Smith Vance. She was raised and educated in Texas. In the fall of 1944 she enlisted in the US Navy and served as a nurse stationed in various Naval Bases. She was honorably discharged on April 9, 1946. Geneva was very talented and diverse in her vocational skills. Besides her nursing, she was a beautician and worked a while as a cobbler in the family business. She also taught classes in floral design. She married Art Black in the early 50
