George Thomas Crist Jr, 92, passed away on October 26, 2025.
He was born on September 10, 1933, in Pocatello, Idaho to George Thomas Crist and Amy Rogers Crist.
He attended Jefferson Elementary, Irving Jr High, and Pocatello High. George left high school early to join the Navy during the Korean War, December 28, 1950. George worked in the boiler room on the USS Piedmont until his honorable discharge on July 16, 1954.
After returning to Pocatello, he attended Idaho State University's electronics program, earning his electronics technician certifications. While in college, he married Norene Hill. They had 4 children: Debora, William, Roger, and Michael.
After graduation, the family moved to Quincy, WA. There, George and Norene operated Quincy Appliance. Later, he worked on missiles in Washington and South Dakota.
The family moved back to Pocatello to settle down and avoid moving from place to place. George spent the rest of his career working for Chad’s Home Furnishings and Dell’s Mountain Electric.
George is survived by his brother, Robert Crist. Daughter, Debora (Charley); Sons, William (Terry), and Michael (Liz). Granddaughters, Carrie (Dave); Kimi (Anass). Great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Abigail, and Samuel.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Norene; son, Roger; grandsons, Don and Brandon; parents, George and Amy; sisters Jean, Marjorie, and Lenore; brother, Wesley.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, ID. A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID.
