Georgia Wright of Pocatello, Idaho passed away May 25, 2026. She was born on February 22, 1950 to Guy Jr. and Verda Wilson in Pocatello. Because she was born on George Washington's birthday her parents decided Georgia was a fitting name. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1968. She married Ted Wright on October 5, 1991.
Georgia held many jobs including waitress at the Highwayman Café, working at AMI, performing secretarial duties for a real-estate firm, cleaning homes, and teaching belly dancing.
Georgia cherished life and embraced every new opportunity. She loved to garden and be outdoors soaking up the sunshine. Georgia was incredibly creative and used her creativity in several pursuits. She painted whatever delighted her, many of her paintings were studies of the outdoors. She wrote fiction and was a member of the Idaho Writer's League and Romance Writers of America. Georgia poured her heart and soul into a romantic historical novel: Dawn Comes on Nightwing. She enjoyed traveling with writers to many conferences in Utah and Idaho. She and her sister, Toni Maynard, fell in love with making eclectic items for craft shows. They bought an old motor home and hit the road, attending multiple shows while selling their crafts with flair. After retirement, she and her husband Ted bought a camp trailer and every chance they got they'd explore different camping spots in Idaho's wilderness.
Georgia had a fondness for animals. She and Ted bred and sold Chihuahuas and many of their dogs became champions on the dog show circuit. When Georgia sat at the computer to write, little Rebel would curl up in the top desk drawer and serve as her wingman. She loved horses and spent several enjoyable hours riding her little Rocky Mountain horse Zuzu.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Jr. and Verda, sister Linda Jane Carothers, brother Michael Jean Wilson and sister Toni Lu Maynard. She is survived by her husband, Ted; son Layne Christopher (Chuck) Nicholls; grandson Layne Christopher Nicholls; stepson Shea Wright; stepdaughter Merci Eden Bloxham; brother-in-law Brian Maynard; and several nieces and nephews.
