Jerry Joslin, died at his home, on Friday, July 10, in Boring, Oregon.
Jerry was born at home, on September 14, 1941, to Christy and Juanita (Steadman) Joslin, in Plattsburg, Missouri. Shortly after Jerry’s third birthday, the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where Jerry spent his growing up years attending Whittier Elementary, the old Franklin Jr. High, and was a 1959 graduate of Pocatello High School.
Jerry was always a hard worker throughout his life starting in his high school years. His last job in Idaho was with Rogers Construction completing the I-15 project through Pocatello. In the early 1960's, Jerry proudly served in the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1965.
On February 28, 1964, he married the true love of his life, Linda Sue Roberts, in Elko, Nevada. After the I-15 job was completed in Pocatello, he and Linda moved to Gresham, Oregon, and later to Boring, Oregon to a new home where they would spend the rest of their lives together, blessed by many wonderful neighbors. It was there Jerry began working for Interstate Heavy Hauling managing and dispatching their trucks around the country loaded with large construction equipment. Jerry cared about and had great respect for all his drivers, and they for him.
He worked for Interstate until taking an early retirement to care for Linda who was battling cancer, dying way too early at age 64. His attention, care, and love for Linda was an example to all of us during that time.
Jerry loved race cars; the faster the better. He held the record for many years at the Pocatello Speedway for the top speed in the quarter-mile track in his bracket. He continued to race cars thoughout his life, and even though in recent years, he could no longer drive, he had a driver for his Monte Carlo super stock and Camaro stocker at the time of his death. He spent many weekends at the race track, most with Linda and his brothers at his side.
Jerry is survived by sisters, Shirley Allen, Pocatello, Idaho, Sharon Satterwhite, Ft. Worth, Texas; Sue (Lowell) Hawkes, St. George, Utah; Pat (Marc) Garcia, Twin Falls, Idaho; and brothers Derrell Joslin of West Linn, Oregon and Larry Joslin of Pocatello, Idaho; and 11 nieces and nephews, and his dog, Jasper, faithful companion to the end.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his parents, brothers Jimmie and Gary, and many beloved pets.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Boring, Oregon.
