Gordon Glenn Neil passed away peacefully at his home in Ucon, Idaho on April 16, 2026.
Glenn was born November 2, 1947 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Dale and Patricia Neil. The first of three children. At five years old his parents moved to Pocatello, Idaho. He attended grade school, Alameda junior high and high school, being one of the first to graduate from Highland High School in 1967. Glenn spent plenty of time playing football in the neighborhood, always being the quarterback/captain. He loved cars and had a need for speed.
The Vietnam war was going on and Glenn was concerned about being drafted, so he joined the United States Navy. He served for three years in Vietnam and Alaska handing out paychecks, hence he was the favorite.
Before he left for the service he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Winter in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 25, 1969. They had a beautiful daughter and named her Patrica Sue in December of 1973. Christine passed away in 1975. Glenn worked hard at raising his daughter with the help of Grandma & Grandpa Winter. He met Raylene Bowden while changing her flat tire and they were married September 2, 1978. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Raylene passed in November of 1999. Glenn met Lawna Zanelli thru a co-worker and they were married February 21, 2003.
Glenn was a hard worker, starting at the age of 12 until his retirement in 2023. Most of his working life was in the tire industry. He started out busting tires and at the time of his retirement was a salesman. Glenn could remember orders, seemed he never had to write it down. He was loyal to his customers and they were loyal to him.
Glenn loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
He loved spending time with family and good friends. He hated ham and his favorite flower was a dandelion. LOL!
Glenn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving with three bishops and just serving. He had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Glenn leaves behind his wife Lawna, his daughter Trish (Ray) Batton of St. Anthony, his handsome grandsons Tanner (Calissa), Brennon and Jace, his great-grandson Hunter, sisters Carol (Jim Driebergen) and Evelyn Padgett, brothers Bob (Crystal) Neil, Scott (Cindy) Neil, Alan Frew, Brian Frew, Calvin Frew and Delwin Frew, bonus sons Shawn (Candace) Zanelli, Troy Zanelli, bonus daughters Shannon Cook, Pammy, Tabby, Katrina and Alice Kay and bonus grandchildren Lex (Scott), Nick (McKaylee), Lindsey, Sophia, Bekah (Wes), Caden, Kenna and Dominick, and a lot of friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his previous wives, his parents and step Mother, LuReeta.
Glenn will never, ever be forgotten and will always be remembered for his kind and giving heart.
