James "Jim" E. Lindsey

Jame “Jim" E. Lindsey, 89, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, service, and friendship.

Jim was born December 1, 1936, in La Junta, Colorado, to Clarence and Della Lindsey. He attended school in Buhl, Idaho, where he met Darlene Kleinkopf, who would become his beloved wife of more than 70 years. They were married in Arizona in 1956 and built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and adventure.

A 1955 high school graduate, Jim served in the United States Navy and National Guard, with assignments in San Diego and Santa Ana, California; Mercury, Nevada; and the Marshall Islands. During his military service, he worked in supply and procurement, supporting the nation's atomic weapons program. While serving in the Navy, Jim and Darlene welcomed their daughter, Tonya Lyn, in 1957 and their son, James Lee, in 1961.

After returning to Idaho in 1963, Jim began a career in the electrical industry. For a time, he stepped away from the field to pursue another passion, attending auctioneer school and becoming an auctioneer and business manager for Wall and Patterson Auctioneering. He later returned to the electrical wholesale industry and eventually became the owner of Magic Valley Electric Supply. Under Jim's leadership, the company expanded and thrived with locations in Twin Falls, Burley, and Ketchum, Idaho, as well as Elko, Nevada. He sold the business in 1992 and retired.

Jim was active in his profession, community, and church. He served as an Area Chairman for the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), Assistant State Director for the Idaho Good Sam Club, on the board of First Baptist Church of Twin Falls (now Kingdom Church), and with the Intermountain Church Planters Association. He taught Sunday School and Bible studies for many years and occasionally preached.

Jim had an adventurous spirit and a lifelong love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, camping, and exploring the beauty of God's creation. Summer often meant gathering family members for extended ocean fishing trips, where days were spent on the water and evenings were filled with laughter, stories, and time together. These experiences became treasured family traditions and reflected Jim's great joy: sharing life's adventures with those he loved and creating memories that would last for generations.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Lindsey; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Randy Beutler; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Tracy Lindsey; grandchildren Jennifer and Bob Roberts, Tyler and Kristen Lindsey, Taiyler Lindsey, Jaelyn Lindsey, Shawna and Kevin Bennett, Brandie and Joey Heck, Jordan and Katie Roberts, Michael Roberts, Alyssa Roberts, Kodi McPherson, Kayla McFarland, Tyler Kruit, and many cherished great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Della Lindsey, and his brothers, Gene Lindsey, Leonard Lindsey, and Raymond Lindsey.

Jim will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, generous heart, adventurous spirit, and deep love for his family.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Kingdom Church, 910 Shoshone Street East, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. A private committal service for Jim will be held at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
