Janene Carol Martin

Janene Martin passed away February 3, 2023 in Pocatello, Idaho. Janene was born December 6, 1968 in Pocatello, Idaho to Ronald Lee and Judy Carol Martin. She attended schools in Pocatello, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1987. While attending high school Janene was involved in the drill team, the Indianettes. Janene attended Idaho State University , graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Communication Services and Disorders.

Janene worked at Sears in the jewelry department; Pocahy Family Credit Union; Smith’s Grocery Store and was a Certified Family Home Provider from 2020 to 2023.

She married Sheldon Ropicky in 1992. They were married for 18 years, divorcing in 2010. To that union two daughters were born.

Janene enjoyed reading, caring for pets, gardening, yoga, watching her favorite Holiday movies and comedic shows, encouraging others and spending time with her two beautiful daughters.

Janene was preceded in death by her Father, Ronald Lee Martin and Mother Judy Carol Martin and her grandparents Bonnie and Dick Martin and Barbara Mesenbrink.

Janene is survived by her daughters Janette Ropicky, and Jordyn Ropicky both of Pocatello, Idaho; her sisters Ronda (Hal) Hatfield of Prescott, Arizona; Gaylene (Tony) Warth of Pocatello, Idaho and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 215 N 18th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201 with a luncheon to follow.  Interment will take place at Restlawn Cemetery the same day at 2:00 pm.
