Jeb Ryan Harris, 52, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by family.

Jeb was born on November 22, 1973, in Salt Lake City. After spending his early childhood in Utah, he and his brother and sister moved to American Falls after their mother remarried. He graduated from American Falls High School in 1992. Afterwards he became a father to his two children and started his lifelong career working for J.R. Simplot. Working for Simplot, Jeb was always on the move around the state of Idaho, the state of Washington, and even traveling internationally. Throughout the last 11 years of moving and travel, he was always accompanied by his faithful companion Remi, his favorite chocolate Labrador.

Life was not always easy for Jeb. He carried more than he let on and faced challenges that were often handled privately and with stubborn resilience. Jeb was a quiet man, often communicating through grunts, nods, and sarcastic remarks said under his breath. Those who understood him well knew that beneath the rough edges and sarcasm, he was a deeply loyal and kind man. Although quiet, Jeb was loyal to the friends he made, the sports teams he cheered for, the pets he always kept in his company throughout his life, and most importantly the family he loved.

His favorite hobbies were grilling and smoking meat. He was always eager to try new recipes and methods of cooking, and to serve great food to friends and family whenever possible. He also had a great appreciation for nature, specifically for waterfalls. He would often travel in his free time to visit waterfalls in the areas he lived in or was visiting.

In lieu of hugs, which were rare and almost painful for Jeb, please honor his memory by grilling something low and slow, enjoying a quiet moment in the company of loved ones or visiting and appreciating a beautiful waterfall.

Jeb is survived by his two children, Rylee (Jonathan) Dake of Athens, Tennessee, and Trisden (Angel Gray) Harris of Chubbuck, Idaho; his mother, Kayla Clayton Bailey of Chubbuck, Idaho; his sister, Emilee (Jason Hayne) Harris of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and brother, Willy (Melissa) Harris of Meridian, Idaho; his niece, Lelainne (Cody Potter) Horvath and their children, Roman Curtis and Atlas Potter of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and his faithful companion, Remi.

Jeb was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Clayton; his father, Rick Harris; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will host a celebration of life in the spring to honor Jeb. Details will be announced when available.
