Jerry Evans Primm, 90, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on June 30, 1935, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Belva and James Primm. Jerry lived in Newdale, ID for his early years, then in 1948 he moved to Arimo, ID with his family. Throughout his life, he moved to different cities in Idaho like Island Park, Shelly, and Idaho Falls. Jerry lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
In 1954 he married Lavon Bell in Pocatello, ID. They had 4 children together but later divorced. In 1968 he married Carol D. Sterkel in Idaho Falls, who had 3 children from a previous marriage, they later had a son together.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Carol D. Primm, whose memory he cherished throughout his life. He also mourned the loss of his daughter, Sandy Primm Devore, and his brother, Jimmy Primm. His parents, Belva Bird Primm and James Arby Primm, guided him with love throughout his formative years, instilling values that he carried with him in everything he did.
Jerry was a man of many interests, finding joy in the great outdoors through hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours embracing the tranquility of nature, creating cherished memories with loved ones. Additionally, he had a hidden talent and he found fun and camaraderie in the social sport of bowling, a beloved pastime that brought him closer to friends and family alike.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his sister, Anna Marie Ratliff (John), and his children: Marie Payne, Marjie Kay Primm, Mike Primm, David Primm, Sherry Benson, and Kathy Larsen. He was a proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren and delighted in the laughter and love of many great and great-great-grandchildren. Jerry also welcomed his sons-in-law — Randall Benson, and Valdene Larsen — and daughters-in-law — Ruth Primm and Crystal Primm — into his family with open arms, treating them as his own.
A graveside service to honor Jerry’s remarkable life will be held on October 9, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Arimo Cemetery in Arimo, Idaho. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a man who leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless treasured moments. Jerry’s warm spirit and generosity touched the lives of so many, and he will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered, by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
