John “Jack” Fleming quietly transitioned on Christmas Day 2025, after extended care at home, partnering with his wife to manage the ever-changing symptoms of Parkinsons Disease. As the extradordinary Enhabit Hospice Team entered the care giving arena, Jack proclaimed that he was 79 years old, had lived a good life, and was ready to go. At various earlier times, he had declared the following to have been the most notable parts of that good life:
Education - getting past 9th grade, getting his Masters degree, and earning his Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) credential.
Work - most anything and everything to stay alive from selling snow cones and pretzels from his red wagon at 6 years of age in hometown of Philadelphia to driving truck cross country, inspecting road work, or doing whatever was needed in the oil patch. All jobs were performed to the employers' and his own satisfaction, never staying in a job that wasn't liked.
Profession - Creating and functioning as Clinical Director of Therapy in Motion Substance Abuse Disorder Residential Recovery Center in Lava Hot Springs.
Relationships - husband of Helen/ father of boy and girl, widower of Debbie/ father of namesake, and husband of Susan his "forever girl"/ stepfather to her son. Canine besties Freddy the Freeloader, Curio, Spunky, Champ and Tyrone.
Key attributes noted by other people: Get Real approach to Life, compassionate generosity, loyal friendship, neither bashful nor boastful, happy from within himself, fearless until dementia set in. Yes Jack you've done a good job. Go - Follow the Light...
A gathering to disperse cremains will be held in Spring.
