Jon R. Sorenson

Jon Ray Sorenson, 47, passed away on July 19, 2025. Jon was born on June 19, 1978, in Pocatello, Idaho to Connie Jean Chappel and Russell Kent Sorenson. He was the youngest of three children: Scott Leadford of Pocatello, Idaho, and Junae Sorenson of Pocatello, Idaho.

Jon met Sheila Burrup in the summer of 2006 and was instantly in love with her and her children, Stephanie and Zachary Burrup. They became an instant family, and he also became a grandpa in 2007 when Aspen was born. Jon loved Sheila‘s kids as his own and it showed. He would do anything and everything for them. Stephanie had Jon wrapped around her little finger. Jon was easy to get along with and he would help anyone that needed the help. Jon was a very hard worker.

Jon and Sheila decided in 2012 to add another child to their family, that is when they became parents to Trenton D. Sorenson. Jon loved his son more than anything in this world.

Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Connie, his daughter, Stephanie Burrup, his dad, Kent, his grandparents, Delores and Jack Chappel, and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Haggard.

Jon is survived by his son, Trenton Sorenson, Sheila, Aspen, his son Zach (Ashley Allan), grandchildren, Kenneth and Shay Waddle, Zoey Railie and Hazel Burrup, brother, Scott, Leadford, sister, Junae Sorenson, Bobby, Haylie, and Eric Jones, aunt, Deanna and Gary, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, so many great friends who Jon loved like family.

Jon loved the outdoors; he loved to go fishing and camping any chance he could get with his sons, Zach and Trenton. Losing Jon has really caused a huge loss in all of our hearts; he will be greatly missed. Until we see you again, we love you so much, Jon.
