Joseph Monday, 81, passed away on September 9, 2024.
Joseph Monday was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 6, 1943. He was a small business owner of a toy store. Mid-life he moved to Denver, Colorado to accept a position at Key Company Vitamins as a sales representative. Eventually he moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he met and married the love of his life, Joyce Hopkins-Monday.
Joseph and Joyce were married for 24 wonderful years.
Joseph loved cars and racing, tennis, golf, and was a big football fan. Especially the Michigan State Trojans.
Joseph passed away on September 9, 2024, at Brookdale in Chubbuck, Idaho.
The family would like to that the staff at Brookdale Chubbuck for the time and special care that they gave to Joseph. And also thank you to Rachelle Losser and staff at Heritage Home Health & Hospice.

Joseph is survived by His loving wife Joyce Hopkins-Monday of Pocatello, Idaho; sister Marilyn Sidwell-Jones Pocatello, Idaho; stepson Kirk G Hopkins Casper Wyoming; stepson Kristopher T Hopkins Pocatello, Idaho; stepdaughter Kimberly J Andrew (Dustin) Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren Patrick M. & Taya Marks and children Lyla and Tobiah Pocatello, Idaho; Michael & Jerica Andrew and children Greyson and Twyla Pocatello, Idaho; Shalysa & Petey Varela and children Baylor and Boston Ammon, Idaho.
Joseph Monday was a beloved and very appreciated man. Joseph loved people and loved his wife Joyce Hopkins Monday very much. Joseph loved racing, football, tennis and pretty much all sports he could watch on TV but was an actual race car driver in his younger days. Joseph fought a long and hard battle with Spina Bifida and other health issues. Joseph was one of the oldest known survivors with Spina Bifida. Even in the later years of his life when it got to the point where Joe could barely walk on his own and was confined to his chair, he was always supportive, encouraging, and loving to whoever needed a good "lifting up." Joseph is home now with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and no longer has to be in pain or worry about the health issues he had, and so "strongly and courageously" battled for many years. Joseph was a fighter and had a great heart with plenty of love to go around. Joseph was a "Great Man and Dad." Love and miss you dearly!!
