Joyce Hofhine: A Life Remembered
Joyce Hofhine, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the remarkable age of 96. Born on March 20, 1929, in Downey, Idaho. Raised in Bancroft, Idaho, Joyce was the cherished daughter of Arves and Eve Christensen.
Joyce lived a life full of joy, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, laughter, and loving spirit touched countless lives, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Joyce is survived by Barry Everett (Anne), Lance Toomey (Karen), Joseph Newman, Ned Newman (Vicki), Denette Newman, and Russell Newman (Kimberly); 22 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Barbra Hatch (sister), Krista Bullock (daughter).
Joyce had a passion for gardening, and her vibrant rose beds were a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was known for her delicious homemade cookies, a tradition she lovingly shared with her family for generations. Joyce loved making quilts for all of her family and friends. Everyone who had a baby got a quilt from Joyce. And she loved making them for everyone. Joyce loved to go camping and the outdoors... even though she stayed inside and played solitaire. Joyce also loved dancing, and "honky-tonk" music was her favorite to dance to. All her family and friends hope she's dancing up in heaven.
Joyce absolutely loved her grandchildren. They were everything to her. And she did a great job making sure every grandchild knew she loved them deeply.
Joyce will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
