Juanita Juarez

September 18, 1962 — September 9, 2025

Pocatello

Juanita "Janie" Juarez, 62, passed away on September 9, 2025 due to terminal illness with loved ones by her bedside.

She was born on September 18,1962 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ventura and Antonio Sotelo, and was the youngest of three sisters. The family moved around southeast Idaho until finally settling in Pocatello, Idaho. In her younger years she could be found raising animals in their family farm, being outside, riding horses with her sisters, and spending time with family.

She graduated first from Highland High School in 1980 and then, continued her education at Idaho State University earning herself a degree in Accounting and later in Computer Programming. She worked at Farm Bureau and then became a senior programmer analyst for Bannock County.

She has two beautiful daughters and a grandson who was her greatest joy. Janie enjoyed crocheting, reading, listening to music, random dances with her daughters, and spending time with family.

She exuded strength and love and was dedicated to her family, friends, and livelihood. A mother to not only her children, but her nieces and nephews around her. She was someone who showed up no matter where, or what was going on. And always had her home, and heart open to anyone who was in need. She was admirable in every sense of the word.

Janie is survived by daughters Amanda Reyes, Monica Juarez, Grandson Anthony Juarez-Williams, and many other nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death – by sisters Diana Oblea, and Berta Jaramillo, Mother Ventura Schroeder, Father Antonio Sotelo, Nephews Jose Jaramillo, Antonio Oblea, Niece Elisa Jaramillo, Husband Martin Juarez
