Julie Ann Flint

October 8, 1945 — May 16, 2023

Julie Ann Flint, 77, passed away May16, 2023. She was born October 10, 1945 to David H. and Lois Page Flint. She lived in Kaysville and Layton for most of her life, apart from summers spent in Idaho while her dad farmed. She grew up surrounded by cousins and extended family which she always cherished. She was educated in Davis county and graduated in 1963 from Davis High.

She married Brent Davis and had a beautiful blue-eyed blonde, Kimberly. They later divorced, yet she remained close to her sisters-in-law and enjoyed weekend getaways, bingo nights and card games with them. She married Thomas Kment and had a green-eyed redhead, Kristina (Ryan Whaley). She was an incredible mom to both the girls, and they never doubted she had their back in any endeavor they encountered.

Julie enjoyed spending time in Wyoming with her four brothers and their amazing families. She was the favorite aunt to all. She enjoyed gardening and could design the most amazing planters and landscapes, and even her vegetable gardens had flair! Julie enjoyed bowling, attending rodeos, live music concerts of all genres, and horseback riding. She liked home décor & HGTV was life. Some of her work was even featured on an episode of Extreme Home Makeover. Julie was also Jimmy Buffett’s #1 fan.

She spent 35 wonderful years working at J&J Nursery where she made many friends and she truly loved all her customers. Her coworkers became family and often she’d be there to celebrate their big moments. She helped thousands of people with their plant needs over those years. She was an amazing horticulturist and had such a way with growing things. She was famous for nursing plants back to health from the trash pile. Her grandmother handed down a Christmas cactus, white raspberry bushes, and hens and chicks starts that Julie lovingly cared for and shared with the next generation.

Julie’s bright spots were her grandchildren, Cheyenne (Kris) Fullmer, Jesse & Piper Jones, Skye & Jack Whaley, and great grandson Owen Davis who gave her the nickname Juju. She enjoyed spoiling them and going all out for Christmas and birthdays. She had a unique and special relationship with each one. Juju spent Wednesday afternoons (her day off) with the grandkids helping them with chores and homework and always bringing them treats from the local gas station. When they’d visit J&J they always got special treatment feeding the fish, taking pre-arranged tractor rides, or getting shown off around the greenhouse.

She spent the last two years in Pocatello, Idaho where she made great friends and attended Harvest Church. She enjoyed the farmers markets and trips downtown with Piper, concerts outdoors, and coffee & cookies with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
