Kathy Jo (Beery) Sparrow, 67, passed away on November 14, 2025. Kathy was born on January 4, 1958, to William Edward Beery and Violet (Call) Beery in Pocatello, Idaho. Kathy was born with her twin sister, Kelly, joining two brothers and a sister at home, later another brother joined their family.
Kathy was raised in Pocatello attending elementary, junior high school, and high school there. Kathy worked at A&W as a manager while in high school. She worked at various other places throughout her life including Kraft Cheese, Heinz, she was the activities director for a Kalispell nursing home, a Dental Assistant for two different dentists in Pocatello, was part of the School District summer maintenance team, and drove school bus for School District #25 in Pocatello, ID.
Kathy married Bradley Sparrow in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1987. They were married for 38 years.
Kathy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints holding callings in the Boy Scouts of America, a seminary teacher, and activities director in the Relief Society. She was also a tough as a boot missionary in the Detroit Dearborn LDS mission.
Kathy‘s favorite color was burgundy, and she loved all sports. In high school, she participated in basketball, volleyball, and track. Pocatello High School is where she shined the most. She especially enjoyed music and her days as a member of the Gate City Singers with the infamous Mr. Bowman.
Kathy loved her family and the times they would all get together. She was a dedicated and true friend to many.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Bradley Scott Sparrow; daughter, Shayla Sparrow and her two children, Aubrie Jo Mannon, and Bradley William Possin (grandchildren) all of Montana; son, Preston Sparrow of Idaho; three brothers, Bill Beery, Wade (Monica) Beery, and Jeff (Jenny) Beery; two sisters, Kim (Bob) Carney, and Kelly (Evan) Bastow, all of Idaho.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; one brother, Brent; son, Skyler; granddaughter, Brandy Lynn; sister-in-law, Sandy Beery; and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Cole Ward LDS Church, 13979 W. Siphon Rd. Pocatello, Idaho 83202, with a viewing for one hour prior, starting at 10:00 am.
The services will be broadcast live as well as the recording will be posted below.
A private urn burial will be held at a later date.
