Kelly Owen Briscoe, 68, passed away on August 2, 2025.
Kelly was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Vera and Perry Briscoe. He was the third boy and 4th child rounding out their family of six. Kelly went to school at Highland High School and graduated with the class of 1976.
Kelly worked a number of jobs in his life, including a short time working for an uncle in Ogden. Aside from this short stay in Utah, Kelly called Pocatello and Chubbuck home for the majority of his life.
Kelly worked for years at FMC just outside of Pocatello. Later, after FMC closed their doors, Kelly took up a career in traffic control. His boss and eventual roommate Cheri Hall has been a huge blessing in his life.The two of them took care of each other. All of Kelly’s work family at Amerigo was so very special to him. The connections he made in his years working there are an important part of the man he was.
Kelly met and married Janice Capell and had 4 children. Kelly supported his children in their sports and hobbies. Everything from helping build pinewood derby cars to coaching(officially and unofficially) sports. He would be seen at games cheering them on. Kelly loved sports and was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Vikings. Janice and Kelly even had season tickets to the Jazz for a few years. They also enjoyed the outdoors, camping in the summers and snowmobiling in the winter.
Kelly is survived by his 3 children Tiffini, Justin, and Shawn along with his wife Leslie, step-daughter Brynn, and daughter Ruby. Also, his ex-wife Janice, Sister Katherine and brothers Terry and Nolan along with his wife Tammy. He is preceded in death by his son Tanner, his father Perry, mother Vera, Sister-in-Law Joanne, and Brother-in-Law Fred Woodin.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 8, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 333 S Treaty Highway, Pocatello, ID 83202. Viewings will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 7 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID, and for one hour prior to the service at the church, beginning at 10:00 am.
